If you'd like to make one of your custom layouts available to another business that uses AroFlo, you can export it in .txt format and send it to your contact, for import into their AroFlo site. Likewise, if someone has shared a custom AroFlo layout with you, you can import it into your AroFlo site using the instructions on this page. Any of your layouts can be exported but the following layout elements and settings will need to be reinstated after the layout is imported:

Export a custom layout
Open a record (e.g. a task, quote, invoice) for the type of layout you want to export.
- In the Print Options area, click Preview.
- Use the dropdown to select the layout you want to export.
- Click Edit > Settings.
- Click Export Options > Export Layout.
A .txt file will be saved to your local drive. You can email this to your contact.

Import an external custom layout
To import a custom layout you've received from another AroFlo client, or from AroFlo Customer Service, save the .TXT file to a location on your local drive. See Sample Custom Layouts for some layouts you can practise on.
Open a record (e.g. a task, quote, invoice) for the type of layout you want to import.
- Use the dropdown to select a custom layout. If you don't have any custom layouts, create one now.
- Click Edit > Settings.
- Click Import Options > Import External Layout.
- Choose how you want to proceed:
- Create Blank and Import - this will give you a blank layout and open your local file share.
-
Import - this will import elements over the top of your selected layout.
The content you import will be laid over the top of any existing elements on your layout, so we recommend starting with a blank layout. The Create Blank and Import function will give you a blank layout and import elements on top of it.

- Locate the .txt file you saved to your local drive and click Open (or the equivalent command in your file share).
If importing from our Sample Custom Layouts, change the filter at the bottom right from ‘Custom Files’ to ‘All Files’ to locate the file.
- The custom layout appears in edit mode and you can make any changes you need to, including adding any custom fields, images, barcodes, footers, or terms and conditions that may have been present before the layout was exported. See Custom Fields and Add Data Elements for more information.

| Your new custom layout will be listed by its original name, or the name you gave it, under the Custom Layouts category in the dropdown. | ![]() |
